Floridians in same sex marriages are indebted to Edith Windsor,

She is the 84 year old widow whose Supreme Court victory garnered equal rights for gay marriages – the same as heterosexual ones .

Windsor got a chance to nurse her ailing wife, Thea Spyer until Spyer died of multiple sclerosis.

But until yesterday, gay people in Florida weren’t given that chance if family or hospital staff objected.

Reporter Patricia Sagastume tells us a story about a cop who wanted to change some minds. So he made a film.
